ABOUT

Laugavegur

The Laugavagur ("path of hot springs")  is Iceand's most famous trekking path. It leads from Landmannalaugar to Þórsmörk. You can travel it in both directions.

Its overall length is 54 km, itss highest point is 1.050 m
at Hrafntinnusker.
You can extend the tour to the coast at Skògar via the Fimmvörðuháls Pass but this has become more difficult since the volcanic eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull in 2010.

The potential starting and ending points Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk and Skógar can be reached by bus easily during the summer months.
The walk takes four days (five days if you travel over the  Fimmvörðuháls Pass) and well-directed by signs.
There are cottages in one-day-walking-distance with fully-furnished kitchens but these are usually fully booked during the main season.

You have to bring your own food but you can use the cottages' kitchen. Camping is allowed only around the cottages. (source: wikipedia)

I'd like to point out that I didn't modify my photographs except for dark-light-contrast.

All the colors you see here are "originally out of the box"!

I update my gallery regularly.
